BURUNDI REMAINS A HAVEN OF PEACE
After the fall of the town of Uvira, of South-Kivu Province, bordering with our country, Burundi, in the hands of the M23 rebels backed by Rwanda, there was a massive flow of Congolese refugees, some with wounds and others having left everything behind them, and they were all welcomed with all generosity and humanity which have always characterize Burundian society as a welcoming land for foreigners and people in search for refuge.
It is imperative to remind that the East of DR Congo has continued to be the field of violent confrontations between the FARDC and the M23⁄RDF despite the signing of the Peace Deal between the DRC and Rwanda, signed in Washington, brokered by the US President, Donald Trump. We hold as a witness the international community so that they continue to monitor what is taking place in this region.
However, Burundi remains a haven of peace. We call upon all Burundians and all foreign nationals living in Burundi to hold their peace. Burundi still has her brave men – ABAGABO BABUSHITSE. Anybody who shall dare try to trouble the peace of those inhabiting this country – heart of Africa – shall know that he did not come for a nice walk. He shall be given a lesson as Burundi knows to do it since the time of our ancestors!
Burundi calls upon all inhabitants to continue with usual development occupations for the good of their respective families and the country in general, since the questions of defense and security are in the good care of the high authorities of this country, and the defense and security forces are always ready to ensure the inviolability of national sovereignty.
